Interim Manager's golf

It's not all work!

Being the 2010 winner Ron Cruickshank kindly agreed to organise the 2011 event at  Magnolia Park www.magnoliapark.co.uk on June 18th 2011.  A blustery day on a challenging course.

The 2009 Interimconnect Golf Challenge Cup event was on Saturday in June 2009 at Cumberwell Park www.cumberwellpark.com at Bradford-on-Avon. An excellent, well maintained course and an easy 15 minutes from junction 18 on the M4.

Here are some photos from the day:

What a glorious day we had and many thanks to Stephen Huard for organizing the day at Cumberwell Park.

Bruce Kitchener won the Interimconnect challenge Cup with Ron Cruickshank a very close second.

They both had 34 points and Bruce won on count back on their second nine holes.

Stephen Huard was third with 32 points and Martin Elliott 4th with 30 points.

We won’t mention the booby prize or my points on the day but it really was a very enjoyable day.

I hope you can join us for the next match!

Best regards Mike (July 2009)

Apart from our regular networking meetings we take time out for the occasional game of golf. If you play to a handicap of 28 or less do join us. Guests are also very welcome.

Over the last few years we played various courses as far apart as Bath to Haywards Heath and a quick hop over the channel to France. Thanks go to Michael Gleave (Interim Retail Marketing Director and Non Executive), Mike Arnold Financial Manager/Director) , John Coltman (Interim Manufacturing/Operations) and Stephen Huard (Interim HR Director) for arranging these.

10 Caddy jokes from Interimconnect member, Clive Long

#10 Golfer: "I think I'm going to drown myself in the lake."
Caddy: "Think you can keep your head down that long?"

#9 Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to break 100 on this course."
Caddy: "Try heaven, you've already moved most of the earth."

#8 Golfer: "Do you think my game is improving?"
Caddy: "Yes sir, you miss the ball much closer now."

#7 Golfer: "Do you think I can get there with a 5 iron?"
Caddy: "Eventually."

#6 Golfer: "You've got to be the worst caddy in the world."
Caddy: "I don't think so sir. That would be too much of a coincidence."

#5 Golfer: "Please stop checking your watch all the time. It's too much of a distraction."
Caddy: "It's not a watch - it's a compass."

#4 Golfer: "How do you like my game?"
Caddy: "Very good sir, but personally, I prefer golf."

#3 Golfer: "Do you think it's a sin to play on Sunday?
Caddy: "The way you play, sir, it's a sin on any day."

#2 Golfer: "This is the worst course I've ever played on."
Caddy: "This isn't the golf course. We left that an hour ago."

And the #1 best caddy comment:

Golfer: "That can't be my ball, it's too old."
Caddy: "It's been a long time since we teed off, sir."
